Angelica Danao Lopez of Bataraza, Palawan, Philippines will turn 24 on November 22, 2024. Days before her birthday, she will represent her home country in an international beauty pageant for the second time.
Aside from Bataraza, Lopez has lived in other parts of Palawan including Barangay San Jose, Puerto Princesa. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Palawan State University in Puerto Princesa.
Lopez won Mutya ng Bataraza 2017 on January 29, 2017 and Miss Puerto Princesa 2018 on March 8, 2018. After being runner-up to Miss Palawan 2019 Jennifer Linda, Lopez finished in the Top 10 at Miss Palawan 2021.
Miss Universe Philippines 2022
On April 30, 2022, Lopez represented Palawan at Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and competed against 30 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She finished in the Top 16.
Lopez also won one sponsor award, which is Luxxe ImmunPlus Queen Majestic. She finished in the Top 3 in the fashion and runway challenge, one of the pre-coronation events.
Miss Asia Global 2022
On September 18, 2022, Lopez represented the Philippines at Miss Asia Global 2022 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, Malaysia. She competed against 30 other candidates including Warapon Mae Yarbrough of Malaysia, who won the title.
Runner up to Yarbrough was Lopez while Lisa Shefer of Estonia, Christina Harb of Canada and Anna Avedenko of Ukraine were the respective second, third and fourth runners-up. The Filipino beauty queen also won the Miss Ramp Walk award.
Bb. Pilipinas 2023
On May 28, 2023, Lopez represented Palawan at Binibining Pilipinas 2023 and competed against 39 other candidates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She ranked first and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-International 2023 while Anna Lakrini of Bataan, who ranked second, was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-Globe 2023.
On July 7, 2024, Lopez went back to the Smart Araneta Coliseum to crown her successor Bb. Pilipinas-International 2024 Myrna Esguerra of Abra. The latter will represent the Philippines at Miss International 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
Miss International 2024
On November 12, 2024, Lopez will represent the Philippines at Miss International 2024 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo. She will compete against 70 other candidates, including Jessica Bailey, 27, of Canada, Mei Ueda, 26, of Japan, Ashlyn Ooi, 27, of Malaysia and Sofia Zghoba, 19, of Ukraine.
If Lopez wins, she will be the seventh Miss International from the Philippines. Representing the Asian country, Gemma Cruz, Aurora Pijuan, Melanie Marquez, Lara Quigaman, Bea Santiago and Kylie Versoza won the title in 1964, 1970, 1979, 2005, 2013 and 2016, respectively.
