Hayato Suzuki vs Robin Catalan
Suzuki is a veteran MMA fighter with an impressive professional record of 18 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws. Spending the majority of his career competing in his native Japan, he is known as a highly skilled competitor with the ability to finish his foes with heavy knockout power and technical grappling skills.
Out of 18 wins, Suzuki has finished 13 of his opponents impressively, including eight by submission and five by knockout. He is a former Grachan Flyweight Champion.
On the other hand, Catalan currently has 8 wins and 3 losses. Three of his victories are in the ONE Championship cage.
Catalan is coming out of two consecutive victories. He was declared the winner at “ONE: Iron Will” on March 24, 2018 after his Thai opponent Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai, 24, was disqualified due to illegal slam.
On July 7, 2018, Catalan returned to the ONE Championship cage, capturing another victory. He submitted Adrian “Papua Badboy” Mattheis, 24, of Indonesia via heel hook at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.”
Catalan is the younger brother of ONE Championship strawweight athlete Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, 39. The latter was originally scheduled to face Suzuki at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” but due to injury, he had to pull out from the contest.
