Thailand’s Yodsanklai Fairtex to show beauty of Muay Thai in Singapore

Yodsanklai “The Boxing Computer” Fairtex, 32, of Thailand is one of the most recognizable names in the world of Muay Thai. Known for his impeccable in-ring techniques, the Thai kickboxer has won numerous championships in his stellar kickboxing career, including the WBC Super Welterweight Muay Thai World Championship and the coveted Lumpinee Stadium World Championship.

Yodsanklai Fairtex vs Chris Ngimbi

Born in Udon Thani, Thailand, Yodsanklai was born Yodthanong Photirat was introduced to Muay Thai by his older brother Yodkangwan Photirat. In 2005, Yodsanklai joined Fairtex.

On May 18, 2018, Yodsanklai will make his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. He will face Chris “The African Warrior” Ngimbi, 34, of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in a kickboxing bout in the 72.5 kg division on the ONE Super Series card.

Yodsanklai stands 5’8″. Ngimbi is 5’11” tall.

Ngimbi was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was a teenager when he moved to the Netherlands.

“ONE: Unstoppable Dreams”

On May 14, 2018, Yodsanklai attended the press conference for “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Marina Bay Sands in Bayfront Subzone, Downtown Core, Singapore. Also present during the event were reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee, 21, Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi, 35, ONE Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 19, Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, 34, Sergio “Samurai” Wielzen, 30, and ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, 47.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to compete in the ONE Super Series,” Yodsanklai said. “Throughout my career, I have seen many opponents and had so many experiences.”

“Now I am ready to take this next step into my career and compete under a new beginning,” the Thai kickboxer added. “This is a chance for me to showcase my skills to the world, and to show fans the beauty of Muay Thai.”
