María Fernanda Beltrán Figueroa, 24, of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico will represent Mexico in the 73rd edition of Miss Universe. She previously represented her home country in Miss Grand International.
Born and raised in Culiacan, Beltran is fluent in Spanish, French and English. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communication.
Miss Grand Mexico 2023
On August 30, 2023, Beltran represented Sinaloa at Miss Grand Mexico 2023. She competed against four other finalists at the Modular Inés Arredondo in Culiacan.
Beltran won the title. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Aarlin Bustamante of the United States’ Mexican community, Frida Reynoso of Coahuila, Priscila Franco of Jalisco and Ingrid Lucero of Puebla.
On October 25, 2023, Beltran represented Mexico at Miss Grand International 2023 and competed against 68 other candidates at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was unplaced.
Luciana Fuster of Peru won the Miss Grand International 2023 title. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Ni Ni Lin Eain of Myanmar, Maria Alejandra Lopez of Colombia, Sthephanie Miranda of the U.S. and Le Hoang Phuong of Vietnam.
Miss Universe Mexico 2024
On September 5, 2024, Beltran represented Sinaloa in the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Mexico. She competed against 32 other candidates at the Canciones Convention Center in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
It was Beltran who won the Miss Universe Mexico 2024 crown. She was crowned by reigning Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.
Runner-up to Beltran was Aranza Molina of Tabasco. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Karen Bustos of San Luis Potosi, Lorena Sevilla of Colima and Mariana Macias of Michoacan.
On November 16, 2024, Beltran will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2024 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. She will compete against 129 candidates including Geyssell Garcia, 29, of Nicaragua, Tatiana Calmell, 30, of Peru and Alma Cooper, 22, of the U.S.
