Jutta Pokuah’s stardom from Miss Ghana 2025 to Miss World 2025

Jutta Pokuah Addo, 25, of the Central Region of Ghana will represent the country at Miss World 2025. She is set to give the country its sixth placement in the oldest existing international beauty pageant.

Founded by Eric Morley, Miss World held its inaugural edition in 1951. Ghana was represented in the competition for the first time in 1959.

Ghana’s first Miss World placement was in 1967 when Araba Martha Vroom finished in the Top 15. Representing the country, Lamisi Mbillah finished in the Top 17 at Miss World 2006 and Irene Dwomoh finished in the Top 16 at Miss World 2007.

Also representing Ghana, Carranzar Shooter was second runner-up to Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Nadia Naa Densua Ntanu finished in the Top 26 at Miss World 2014. The country’s most recent placement in the competition was in 2016 when Antoinette Kemavor finished in the Top 20.

On March 29, 2025, Addo represented the Central Region at Miss Ghana 2025 at the Avenue Event Center in Accra, Ghana. She competed against 12 other finalists and won the title.

Runner-up to Addo was Maud Anti Oduro of the Ashanti Region. The second runner-up was Melissa A-Mintah of the Bono East Region.

Naa Ayeley Hammond, who represented the Savannah Region, was runner-up to 2023 Ghana’s Most Beautiful Selorm Gadah. The latter attended the Miss Ghana 2025 coronation ceremony, which was hosted by Miss Ghana 2020 Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui.

On November 17, 2023, Mintah represented Ghana at The Miss Globe 2023 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Sports Palace in Durres, Albania. She was unplaced.

Addo is currently attending the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) in Accra. As Miss Ghana 2025, she will represent her home country in the 72nd edition of Miss World.

The coronation ceremony of Miss World 2025 will be held in Hyderabad, Telangana, India on May 31, 2025. Including Addo, more than 100 candidates are expected to compete for the crown.

Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszkova won Miss World 2023 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India on March 9, 2024. She competed against 111 other candidates including Ghana’s Miriam Xorlasi, who was unplaced.
