Judith Peter Ngusa, 26, of Lindi, Tanzania will represent Tanzania at Miss Universe 2024. She is the 13th woman from her home country to compete in the international beauty pageant currently owned by JKN Global Group and Legacy Holding Group.
Ngusa is a cabin crew, a flight safety officer and a model with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language. She is 5’8″ tall.
From Miss Tanzania to Miss Tourism Tanzania
Tanzanite Miss Dodoma 2019 was one of the first beauty pageants Ngusa won. She did not make it to the Top 5 when she competed against 19 other Miss Tanzania 2019 candidates at the LAPF New Millennium Towers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on August 23, 2019.
Sylvia Sebastian of Mwanza won the Miss Tanzania 2019 title. She was unplaced when she represented Tanzania at Miss World 2019 at the ExCeL London in London, England, United Kingdom on December 14, 2019.
During the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Ngusa held several beauty pageant titles including Miss Tourism Lindi 2021 and Miss Tourism Tanzania 2021- Eastern Zone. While working for Air Tanzania as a cabin crew, she competed for the Miss Tourism Tanzania 2021 title against 28 other candidates.
The finale was a virtual coronation ceremony on November 22, 2021. Ngusa was runner-up to Angela Steven.
From Miss United Nations to Miss Universe
On May 8, 2022, Ngusa represented Tanzania at Miss United Nations 2022 at Hotel Pride Plaza in Aerocity, New Delhi, India. She won the title.
On October 18, 2024, Ngusa competed against 12 other Miss Universe Tanzania 2024 finalists and won the title. Agness Jackson Satura of Dar Es Salaam, Elizabeth Nyange of Dar Es Salaam, Gaileth Samwel of Tanga and Jennifer Mmari of Manyara finished in the Top 5.
On November 16, 2024, Ngusa will represent Tanzania in the 73rd edition of Miss Universe at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. She will compete against 129 other candidates including Snit Tewoldemedhin, 25, of Eritrea and Khadija Omar, 23, of Somalia.
Currently, Tanzania has one Miss Universe placement. Representing the African country, Flaviana Matata finished in the Top 10 in 2007.
