Miss Earth 2020

Romane Dananjani, 20, of Sri Lanka was one of the 82 women who competed for the Miss Earth 2020 title. It is the 20th edition of the international beauty pageant based in the Philippines.

The competition was held through a virtual ceremony amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on November 29, 2020. The show was broadcast by TV5.

It was Lindsey Coffey of the United States who won the Miss Earth 2020 crown. Dananjani was unplaced.

Also crowned were Miss Earth-Air 2020 Stephany Zreik, 24, of Venezuela, Miss Earth-Water 2020 Roxanne Baeyens, 23, of the Philippines and Miss Earth-Fire 2020 Michala Rubinstein, 27, of Denmark. Amara Shune Lei, 24, of Myanmar, Tessa Ie Conge, 26, of the Netherlands, Sabina Półtawska, 21, of Poland and Krystal Badillo, 25, of Puerto Rico finished in the Top 8.

Hailing from Negambo, Sri Lanka, Dananjani is a fashion model, an actress, a professional dancer and a dance coach. She is fluent in six languages.

Dananjani was appointed Miss Supranational Sri Lanka 2019. However, she was not able to compete at Miss Supranational 2019 and was replaced by Wasana Gunasekara.

Released on July 3, 2020 in Sri Lanka, the short action fantasy film “The Knight Out” starred Dananjani, Jana Santiago and Akash Sunethkumara. It was written and directed by Sunethkumara and released on July 3, 2020 in Sri Lanka.

On August 9, 2020, Dananjani turned 20. She starred opposite Sunethkumara in the short action comedy film “The Piece of Cake,” which was released in Sri Lanka on September 25, 2020.

On October 4, 2020, Dananjani won Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2020 at Hotel Galadari in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She bested 12 other finalists.
