
Bahran and China were among the 11 countries represented at the Brave Combat Federation event “Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” held on December 28, 2018 at the King Abdullah Sports City Indoor Sports Hall in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is the final event of the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion in 2018.
Featuring 10 MMA bouts, “Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” is the first Brave CF event to be held in Saudi Arabia. In the fifth bout of the evening, Hamza AlKooheji of Manama, Bahrain faced Yayong “The Wolverine” Wang of Shanghai, China.
Blue Corner
Born in China on June 5, 1991, Wang is training out of Dragon Gym in Shanghai, China. He has been competing professionally since 2015.
“Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” marked Wang’s Brave CF debut. He was the only fighter representing China in the event.
Red Corner
Born in Bahrain on January 30, 1993, AlKooheji is training out of Bahrain MMA in Tubli, Bahrain. He has been competing professionally since 2012.
“Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” marked AlKooheji’s sixth Brave CF bout. He was the only fighter representing Bahrain in the event.
Fight Result
AlKooheji and Wang competed in a catch weight of 63 kg. After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges.
In the end, the referee raised the hand of AlKooheji. The Bahraini MMA fighter was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” improved AlKooheji’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Wang now has 7 wins and 7 losses.
“Brave 21: Saudi Arabia” Main Events
In the co-main event of the evening, Gadzhimusa “Deadshot” Gadzhiev of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia faced Rami “The Russian” Hamed of Beirut, Lebanon in the welterweight division. The Lebanese fighter knocked out his Dagestani opponent in the first round.
In the main event, Marat Magomedov of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia and Jeremy “JBC” Kennedy of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada battled it out in the featherweight division. The Canadian contender knocked out his Dagestani opponent in the third round.
Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Japan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Syria were also represented at “Brave 21: Saudi Arabia.” Check the complete results here.
