Massachusetts’ Melissa Sapini is Miss Universe Haiti 2025

Melissa Queenie Sapini, 22, will represent Haiti in the 74th edition of Miss Universe. She is an actor, a news reporter and a model originally from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, United States.

From North Attleboro, Sapini moved to Boston, Massachusetts. In 2001, her mother immigrated from Haiti to the U.S.

From August 2017 to June 2021, Sapini attended North Attleboro High School in North Attleborough. From September 2021 to May 2025, she attended Suffolk University in Boston where she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.

On January 12, 2020, Sapini finished in the Top 16 at Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2020 at Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel in Burlington. When she represented North Attleboro at Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2022 at Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel in Burlington on March 27, 2022, she was runner-up to Jillian Driscoll.

On January 29, 2023, Sapini represented Attleboro at Miss Massachusetts USA 2023 and competed against 63 other candidates at the grand ballroom of Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel. She was fourth runner-up to Annika Sharma.

On March 10, 2024, Sapini represented North Attleboro at Miss Massachusetts USA 2024, competed against 55 other candidates at Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel and won the title. On August 4, 2024, she represented Massachusetts at Miss USA 2024, competed against 50 other candidates at the The Biltmore Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California, USA and finished in the Top 10.  

On March 19, 2025, Sapini turned 22. On October 18, 2025, she was appointed Miss Universe Haiti 2025.

On November 21, 2025, Sapini will represent Haiti at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against more than 130 other candidates including Maliqué Bowe, 24, of the Bahamas, Lina Luaces, 22, of Cuba and Gabrielle Henry, 29, of Jamaica.

This makes Sapini the 20th beauty queen to represent Haiti in Miss Universe. The Caribbean country currently has four placements in the international beauty pageant, which are the Top 15 finish of Evelyn Miot in 1962, the first runner-up finishes of Gerthie David and Raquel Pelissier in 1975 and 2016, respectively, and the Top 16 finish of Mideline Phelizor in 2022.

From 2023 to 2024, Haiti did not participate in Miss Universe. In June 2024, Melissa Prato became the new Miss Universe Haiti national director but on October 10, 2025, she released a statement saying she no longer holds that role.
