Zoulahatou Amadou, 23, of Maradi, Niger will participate in the 74th edition of Miss Universe. She is a third-year university student who also works as a professional model.
This marks the first time Niger is represented in Miss Universe. On March 26, 2025, Abdourahamane Tchiani, 63, assumed office as the 11th president of the country.
Niamey is the capital of Niger. The country is bordered by Libya to the northeast, Algeria to the northwest, Chad to the east, Mali to the west, Benin and Burkina Faso to the southwest and Nigeria to the south.
Zoulahatou Amadou
Originally from Niamey, Amadou moved to Dosso, Niger before moving to Maradi. She is 5’11” tall.
On July 10, 2022, Amadou competed against seven other Miss University Niger 2022 finalists at Hotel Bravia in Niamey. The title was won by Halimatou Idrissa, then 21, of the Islamic University in Niger in Say, Niger.
In September 2022, Amadou walked the runway at the Festival de la Mode et du Mannequinat Africain (FESMMA) 2022 in Cotonou, Benin. In October 2022, she traveled to Ganvie, Benin.
Miss Universe 2025
On May 24, 2025, Amadou represented Maradi at Miss Niger Ize Wey Tachanda Lo’ 2025 and competed against 11 other finalists at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Centre in Niamey. The crown was won by Farida Farouck with Assamaou Tassama Barraze as her runner-up.
On October 3, 2025, Amadou took to social media to announce her appointment as Miss Universe Niger 2025. She is the first beauty queen to hold the title.
On November 21, 2025, Amadou will represent Niger at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against more than 120 other candidates including Lillian Andries, 30, of Botswana, Josiane Golonga, 23, of Cameroon, Olivia Yacé, 27, of Cote d’Ivoire, Carmen Obama, 19, of Equatorial Guinea and Basil Onyinyechi, 25, of Nigeria.
