DR Congo’s Deborah Djema from Miss Africa France 2018 to Miss Universe 2025

Déborah Djema, 26, will represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo at Miss Universe 2025. It is the 74th edition of the international beauty pageant currently owned by JKN Global Group and Legacy Holding Group.

This is not the first time Djema is representing the DR Congo in an international beauty pageant. She was the country’s representative in the inaugural edition of Miss Africa France.

Born in Kinshasa, DR Congo, Djema was orphaned at a young age. She grew up in Kongo Central, DR Congo and Tshuapa, DR Congo and earned a bachelor’s degree in applied foreign languages and a master’s degree in digital business and e-commerce from the European Business School Paris in Paris, France.

Djema once won a Goethe-Institut competition, which brought her to Germany. She is the founder of the Dorée Dorée brand and the DJEMAG media outlet, which is dedicated to female intelligence and African entrepreneurship.

On December 15, 2018, Djema represented the DR Congo at Miss Africa France 2018 and competed against 11 other candidates at the Salle Wagram in Paris. She won the title.

Runner-up to Djema was Bakel Mane and the respective second and third runners-up were Sabrina Tyfride Milongo and Ramissa Soumbounou. Among their fellow candidates were Aurelie Rabe of Cote d’Ivoire, Evelyn Teteya of Burundi, Fatou Keita of Mali, Hellen Hafifa of Tanzania, Juayra Bari Djalo of Guinea Bissau and Laura M. Fortes of Senegal.

    On August 22, 2025, Djema competed against nine other Miss Universe DR Congo 2025 finalists at the Centre Culturel et Artistique de Kinshasa in Kinshasa and won the title. Dorcas Nende Masika and Blandine Nyota were the respective first and second runners-up.

    On November 21, 2025, Djema will represent the DR Congo at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against 129 other candidates including Olivia Yacé, 27, of Cote d’Ivoire and Eve Gilles, 22, of France.
