Aruba’s Hannah Arends from Reinado Internacional del Cafe 2019 to Miss Universe 2025

Hannah Abigail Angelle Arends, 28, of Oranjestad represented Aruba in the 48th edition of Reinado Internacional del Cafe. She will represent the island country in the 74th edition of Miss Universe.

On June 7, 2018, Arends competed against three other Miss Aruba 2018 candidates at the Alhambra Ballroom of Divi Resorts in Oranjestad. She ranked fourth and was crowned Miss Aruba Internacional del Cafe 2018.

On June 12, 2019, Arends represented Aruba at Reinado Internacional del Cafe 2019 at Teatro Fundadores in Manizales, Caldas, Colombia. She competed against 21 other candidates including Scarlet Sanchez of Colombia, who won the title.

Yesenia Barrientos of Bolivia was crowned Virreina Internacional del Café 2019. Yu Harada of Japan, María Sofía Contreras of Venezuela, Innessa Pontes of Brazil and Keila Rodas of Guatemala were the first, second, third and fourth princesses, respectively.

Arends was unplaced. She and Naisha Caban of Puerto Rico finished in the Top 3 of the Reina de la Policia category of the competition, which was also won by Sanchez.

On August 10, 2025, Arends won Miss Universe Aruba 2025 at the Paseo Herencia Ballroom in Noord, Aruba. She competed for the title against three other candidates namely Emily van Spaandonk, Sammie van Pinxteren and Tishaina Silvania.

On November 21, 2025, Arends will represent Aruba at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against 128 other candidates including Yessica Hausermann, 24, of Bolivia, Gabriela Lacerda, 24, of Brazil, Kaori Hashimoto, 21 of Japan and Stephany Abasali, 25, of Venezuela.

The reigning Miss Universe 2024 is Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark. She attended the Miss Universe Aruba 2025 coronation ceremony.

If Arends wins Miss Universe 2025, she will make history as the first Aruban beauty queen to win the title. Currently, Aruba has four Miss Universe placements, which are the fourth runner-up finish of Maureen Ava Vieira in 1974, the first runner-up finish of Taryn Scheryl Mansell in 1996, the Top 10 finish of Thessaly Zimmerman in 2021 and the Top 30 finish of Anouk Eman in 2024.
