Lina Luaces is Lorenzo Luaces and Lili Estefan‘s daughter. Estefan is Emilio Estefan and Gloria Estefan‘s niece.

On November 21, 2025, Lina will represent Cuba at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against more than 120 other candidates including Aldana Masset, 25, of Argentina, Yessica Hausermann, 24, of Bolivia, Mirna Caballini, 22, of Panama and Stephany Abasali, 25, of Venezuela.

Cuba was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Cuba in 1952, from 1954 to 1958, from 1959 to 1963 and from 1965 to 1967. In 2024, Prince Julio Cesar became the national director of Miss Universe Cuba.

On July 8, 2025, Carlos Adyan, Sheynnis Palacios and Tenay Rodriguez hosted the Miss Universe Netherlands 2025 coronation ceremony at the Milander Park, Hialeah, Florida, United States. The show featured a performance by Alex Duval.

Miss Universe Peru 1987 Jessica Newton and Miss Universe Americas 2024 Tatiana Calmell served as judges. They were joined by Arlie Alfaro, Carlos Herrera, Carolina London, Claudia Borges, Florence Nacino, Greidys Gil, Karen Paba, Laura Amores, Leah Reyes, Maripily Rivera, Melkis Diaz, Miguelangel Garcia, Miguel Moreno, Ninel Conde and Sarah Hosaka.

Including Lina, a total of 17 women competed for the Miss Universe Cuba 2025 crown. Here are the results:
