Cameroon’s Issie Princesse from Miss Universe 2023 to Miss World 2025

Ndoun Issie Marie Princesse, 24, of Littoral Region, Cameroon is competing in an international beauty pageant again. She is a breast cancer advocate who went to Collège Notre Dame Des Nations de YASSA in Douala, Cameroon.

Before winning Miss Cameroun 2023, Princesse won Miss College Notre Dame des Nations 2019, Miss Douala Fiesta 2021 and Miss Littoral 2023. She was also a Miss Orangina Cameroun 2020 finalist.

In 2023, Princesse became the first beauty queen from Cameroon to place in Miss Universe. More than one year later, she is set to give her home country its third placement in Miss World.

Representing Cameroon, both Audrey Monkam and Julia Samantha Edima finished in the Top 40 at Miss World 2021 and Miss World 2023, respectively. Princesse has been appointed as the country’s Miss World 2025 candidate.

On November 18, 2023, Princesse represented Cameroon at Miss Universe 2023 at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador. She competed against 83 other candidates including Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, who won the title.

Princesse finished in the Top 20. Runner-up to Palacios was Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild.

Australia’s Moraya Wilson was second runner-up. Namibia’s Jameela Uiras and South Africa’s Bryoni Govender also finished in the Top 20.

On May 31, 2025, Princesse will represent Cameroon at Miss World 2025 on Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is the 72nd edition of the oldest existing international beauty pageant.

Including Princesse, more than 100 candidates will compete for the crown. Among her fellow African candidates are Anicia Gaothusi, 22, of Botswana, Cyria Temagnombe, 22, of Madagascar, Kimberly Joseph, 20, of Mauritius,, Mame Fama Gaye, 24, of Senegal, Zoalise van Rensburg, 19, of South Africa, Tracy Nabukeera, 21, Tanzania, Nathalie Yao-Amuama, 21, Togo, Lamis Redissi, 23, Tunisia, Natasha Nyonyozi, 23, Uganda and Courtney Jongwe, 23, Zimbabwe.

The reigning Miss World 2023 is Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszkova. She was crowned on March 9, 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, which is around 790 kilometers away from Telangana.
