Sierra Wright’s stardom from Miss Delaware Teen USA 2014 to ‘Survivor 47’

Sierra Wright of Wilmington, Delaware, United States is a nurse. She competed in beauty pageants before joining the 47th season of the CBS competitive reality television series “Survivor“.

Wright graduated from Brandywine High School in Wilmington and earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA. In 2023, she graduated from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

When Wright competed for the Miss Delaware Teen USA 2014 title, she finished in the Top 13 and won the Miss Congeniality award. On November 30, 2014, she won Miss Delaware Teen USA 2015.

On August 22, 2015, Wright represented Delaware at Miss Teen USA 2015 at the Grand Ballroom on the Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. She competed against 50 other candidates including Louisiana’s Katherine Haik, who won the title.

Runner-up to Haik was California’s Melanie Mitchell and the respective second, third and fourth runners-up were North Carolina’s Jane Axhoj, Tennessee’s Hannah Greene and Massachusetts’ Sophie Baird. Wright was unplaced.

On November 26, 2017, Wright won Miss Delaware USA 2018. On May 21, 2018, she represented Delaware at Miss USA 2018 at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA and competed against 50 other candidates including Nebraska’s Sarah Rose Summers, who won the title.

Runner-up to Summers was North Carolina’s Caelynn Miller-Keyes. The second runner-up was Nevada’s Carolina Urrea.

Wright was unplaced. So was Kansas’s Melanie Shaner, who was also unplaced at Miss Teen USA 2025.

Including Wright, a total of 18 castaways competed in “Survivor 47” on the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. On the 15th day, she became the eighth contestant to be voted out and the first member of the jury.

In the end, the winner was Southfield, Michigan’s Rachel LaMont. Runner-up to LaMont was Nashville, Tennessee’s Sam Phalen and Putnam Valley, New York’s Susan “Sue” Smey was second runner-up.

On June 9, 2024, Wright turned 27. “Survivor 47” aired on CBS from September 18, 2024 to December 18, 2024.

On November 25, 2024, Wright and Justin Ammerman got engaged. On June 19, 2026, they will get married in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
