Ireland’s Caolan Loughran beats England’s Nathan Fletcher at ‘UFC Fight Night 255’ in London

Fighting out of Tyrone, Ireland, “The Don” Caolán Loughran, 28, has earned his second Ultimate Fighting Championship victory. The Irish mixed martial artist was one of the “UFC Fight Night 255” winners.

Also known as “UFC on ESPN+ 113”, the event was held at The O2 Arena in London, England, United Kingdom on March 22, 2025. There were 14 matches on the card.

The second match was a bantamweight bout between Loughran and Nathan Fletcher, 27, of Liverpool, England. Daniel Movahedi served as the referee while Ben Cartlidge, Anders Ohlsson and Vito Paolillo were the judges.

After three five-minute rounds, Movahedi raised the hand of Loughran. The MMA fighter from Tyrone was declared the winner via split decision.

Both Cartlidge and Paolillo scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Loughran. Ohlsson also scored it 29-28 but in favor of Fletcher.

The victory improved Loughran’s professional MMA record to 10 wins and 2 losses. He lost to Taylor Lapilus at “UFC Fight Night 226” on September 2, 2023, defeated Angel Pacheco at “UFC on ESPN 54” on March 30, 2024 and lost to Jake Hadley at “UFC 304” on July 27, 2024 all via unanimous decision.

From 2019 to 2020, Fletcher fought nine Cage Warriors opponents. In 2019, he defeated his first two professional MMA opponents via submission.

In 2020, Fletcher defeated Johan Segas via technical knockout and submitted Leigh Mitchell. In 2021, Fletcher submitted Michele Martignoni and Brian Bouland before being knocked out by Dominique Wooding.

Fletcher defeated Alessandro Giordano via unanimous decision in 2022 and submitted Daan Dujis in 2023. When Fletcher made his UFC debut on September 7, 2024, he submitted Zygimantas Ramaska.

Loughran was Fletcher’s second UFC opponent. Losing to the Irish MMA fighter downgraded the professional MMA record of the athlete from Liverpool to 9 wins and 2 losses.
