“The Electric State”

Juan Uribe Brandi plays a university student in “The Electric State”. He is a student of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in real life.

Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, the film was shot in Atlanta. It made its world premiere at Grauman’s Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA on February 24, 2025 and Netflix released it on March 14, 2025.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay. It was loosely based on Simon Stålenhag‘s 2018 dystopian science fiction illustrated novel of the same name.

The film stars Chris Pratt, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander, Ke Huy Quan, Marin Hinkle, Martin Klebba, Michael Trucco, Millie Bobby Brown, Stanley Tucci and Woody Norman. It also features the voices of Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie, Billy Gardell, Brian Cox, Colman Domingo, Hank Azaria, Jenny Slate, Jordan Black, Rob Gronkowski, Susan Leslie and Woody Harrelson.

Also in the cast are Andy Watts, Chris Cacstaldi, Jeffrey Ford and Patrick Newall as drone pilots, Augie Rosalina as a high school student, Ian Mcshay as a soldier, Merle Dandridge as a news anchor and Vince Pisani as a science professor. Sarah Finn was the casting director.

From May 2021 to June 2023, Brandi was a seasonal food runner and host at TAVERNA in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. From August 2021 to May 2023, Brandi attended the Oxford College of Emory University where he earned an associate’s degree in arts.

In August 2021, Brandi started pursuing a bachelor’s degree in film and media studies at Emory University. From January 2023 to April 2023, he studied cinema at the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES Abroad), which is based in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

In August 2023, Brandi started studying media management at Emory University. He is expected to graduate in May 2025.

Brandi was a development intern at Federation Studios in Atlanta from February 2024 to April 2024 and a television scripted intern at Creative Artists Agency in Century City, California from June 2024 to August 2024. In September 2024, he joined the United Talent Agency in Atlanta as an intern.
