London, England’s Jack Draper beats Holger Rune at 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California

Jack Draper, 23, of London, England, United Kingdom is the men’s singles champion of the 2025 Indian Wells Open. Also called the 2025 BNP Paribas Open for sponsorship reasons, the tennis tournament was held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States from March 5-16, 2025.

Runner-up to Draper was Holger Rune, 21, of Gentofte, Denmark. This is the first Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters 1000 title of the English tennis player.

Daniel Medmedev, 29, of Moscow, Russia and Carlos Alcaraz, 21, of Villena, Alicante, Spain finished in the semifinals. The quarterfinalists were Tallon Griekspoor, 28, of Nieuw-Vennep, Netherlands, Arthur Fils, 20, of Courcouronnes, France, Ben Shelton, 22, of Gainesville, Florida, USA and Francisco Cerundolo, 26, of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Draper defeated João Fonseca, 18, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the second round,
Jenson Brooksby, 24, of Carmichael, California in the third round and Taylor Fritz, 27, of Rancho Palos Verdes, California in the fourth round. Before beating Rune in the final round, Draper defeated Shelton in the quarterfinals and Alcaraz in the semifinals.

Draper was born in Sutton, London to Roger Draper and Nicky Draper. Roger is a former chief executive of the Lawn Tennis Association and Sport England and Nicky is a former junior tennis champion.

From 2005 to 2012, Jack attended Parkside School in Stoke d’Abernon, Cobham, Surrey, England. He went to Reed’s School in Cobham, Surrey for two years.

In 2018, Jack made his professional tennis debut. He finished in the semifinals of the men’s singles of the 2024 U.S. Open, which was held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City, New York, USA.

Jack is 6’4″ tall. Aside from playing tennis, he also enjoys listening to rap and grime music.
