Selvinique Wright’s stardom from Miss Teen Bahamas 2010 to Miss Universe 2024

Selvinique Wright, 32, of Andros, Bahamas is the founder of the Women’s Health, Us First foundation. Aside from Andros, she has lived in other parts of the Bahamas including Exuma and Grand Bahama. 

Wright represented the Bahamas in Miss Grand International before representing the country in Miss Universe. She is 5’10” tall.

On August 21, 2010, Wright represented Grand Bahama at Miss Teen Bahamas 2010 and competed against 21 other candidates at the Rainforest Theatre in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas. She did not make it to the Top 5.

Ashlee Bain won the title. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Irena Key, Blair Johnson, Willica Charlow and Rakia Rolle.

On September 17, 2016, Wright competed against nine other Miss Universe Bahamas 2016 candidates at the Albany Resort in Nassau. Cherell Williamson won the title while Chivvaun Smith and Erika Adderley were the respective first and second runners-up.

Wright won the Miss Photogenic award and finished in the Top 5. On September 27, 2016, she was appointed Miss Grand Bahamas 2016.

On October 25, 2016, Wright represented the Bahamas at Miss Grand International 2016 and competed against 73 other candidates at the Westgate International Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She finished in the Top 10 and won the Best in Swimsuit award.

On September 16, 2018, Wright represented Exuma at Miss Universe Bahamas 2018 and competed against 19 other candidates at the Imperial Ballroom of the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in Nassau. She was fourth runner-up to Danielle Grant.

On May 12, 2024, Wright represented Andros at Miss Universe Bahamas 2024, competed against nine other candidates at the Atlantis Showroom on Paradise Island in Nassau and won the title. On August 4, 2024, she and Miss Universe Guyana 2024 Ariana Blaize, 26, attended the Miss USA 2024 coronation ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA and met the winner Alma Cooper, 22.

On November 16, 2024, Wright will represent the Bahamas at Miss Universe 2024 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. She, Blaize and Cooper will compete against 125 other candidates including Maria Fernanda Beltran, 24, of Mexico.
