Stockport, England’s Lerone Murphy decisions Dan Ige at ‘UFC 308’ in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Lerone “The Iceman” Murphy, 33, of Stockport, England, United Kingdom is still undefeated after earning his seventh win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has fought eight bouts in the mixed martial arts promotion based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

On September 7, 2019, Murphy made his UFC debut. Before joining the promotion, he competed in Full Contact Contender, Tanko Fighting Championships, FightStar Championship, Evolution of Combat and Celtic Gladiator.

“UFC 308”

On October 26, 2024, the UFC held “UFC 308” at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. There were 13 matches on the card.

The 10th bout was a featherweight match between Murphy and Dan “50K” Ige, 33, of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Mark Smith served as the referee.

After three five-minute rounds, Smith raised the hand of Murphy, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision. The loss downgraded Ige’s professional MMA record to 18 wins and 9 losses.

On the other hand, Murphy now has 15 wins, 0 loss and 1 draw. When he fought Zubaira Tukhugov of Chechnya, Russia at “UFC 242” in Abu Dhabi on September 7, 2019, it ended in a split draw.

“UFC 308” marked Murphy’s fifth UFC fight in Abu Dhabi. He defeated Ricardo Ramos of Sao Paulo, Brazil via technical knockout at “UFC Fight Island 1” on July 16, 2020, defeated Douglas Silva de Andrade of Para, Brazil via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Island 8” on January 20, 2021 and knocked out Makwan Amirkhani of Turku, Finland at “UFC 267” on October 30, 2021 all in the capital of the UAE.
