Kennedy “American Savage” Nzechukwu, 32, of Dallas, Texas, United States has earned his seventh win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Training at Fortis MMA in Dallas, he has fought 12 bouts in the mixed martial arts promotion based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
Born in Imo, Nigeria, Nzechukwu moved to the U.S. in 2010 with his family. In 2015, his mother brought him to Fortis MMA where he started his MMA training.

Chris “Huggy Bear” Barnett, 38, of Tampa, Florida, USA fought Nzechukwu at “UFC 308” at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 26, 2024. It was the fourth among the 13 bouts on the card.
The match between Barnett and Nzechukwu was the only heavyweight bout on the card. Jason Herzog served as the referee.
After 4 minutes and 27 second, Herzog stopped the heavyweight contest. Nzechukwu defeated Barnett via technical knockout via knee to the body and punches.
The loss downgraded Barnett’s professional MMA record to 23 wins and 9 losses. He has been competing in the UFC since 2021.
On the other hand, Nzechukwu now has 13 wins and 5 losses. It ended his two-bout losing streak.
On May 6, 2023, Nzechukwu defeated Devin Clark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA via technical submission at “UFC 288” in Newark, New Jersey, USA. The Nigerian-American MMA fighter lost to Dustin Jacoby of Arenzville, Illinois, USA via TKO at “UFC on ESPN 50” in Nashville, Tennessee, USA on August 5, 2023 and to Ovince Saint Preux of Knoxville, Tennessee via split decision at “UFC Vegas 88” in Enterprise, Nevada on March 16, 2024.
