Magomed Ankalaev, 32, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia has earned his 12th win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has fought 14 bouts in the mixed martial arts promotion based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
Ankalaev made his UFC debut on March 17, 2018. Before joining the promotion, he competed in Oplot Challenge, Tesla Fighting Championship and World Fighting Championship Akhmat.
“UFC 308”
The UFC held “UFC 308” at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 26, 2024. There were 13 matches on the card.
In the 11th bout, Ankalaev fought Aleksandar “Rocket” Rakic, 32, of Vienna, Austria in the light heavyweight division. Vitor Ribeiro served as the referee.
After three five-minute rounds, Ribeiro raised the hand of Ankalaev, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision. The loss downgraded Rakic’s professional MMA record to 14 wins and 5 losses.
On the other hand, Ankalaev now has 19 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 1 No Contest. His only loss was on March 17, 2018 at “UFC Fight Night 127” in London, England, United Kingdom where he was submitted by Paul Craig via triangle choke submission.
On December 10, 2022, Ankalaev fought Jan Blachowicz of Cieszyn, Poland at “UFC 282” in Paradise, Nevada. It ended in a split draw.
On October 21, 2023, Ankalev fought Johnny Walker of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at “UFC 294” in Abu Dhabi. It was declared a No Contest due to illegal knee.
