Eva Maria Düringer Cavalli of Austria was married to fashion designer Roberto Cavalli of Italy from 1980 to 2010. They have three children together namely Rachele Cavalli, Daniele Cavalli and Robin Cavalli.
On April 12, 2024, Roberto died in Florence, Italy. He was 83.
On September 18, 2024, Eva attended a fashion show that paid tribute to Roberto at the Milan Fashion Week in Milan, Italy. On October 9, 2024, she turned 65.
From Miss Austria 1977 to Miss World 1977
After winning Miss Austria 1977, Eva represented Austria at Miss Universe 1977 on July 16, 1977 and competed against 79 other candidates at the National Theater in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Roberto was one of the judges.
Janelle Commissiong of Trinidad and Tobago won the title. Eva was first runner-up.
On November 17, 1977, Eva represented Austria at Miss World 1977 and competed against 61 other candidates at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, United Kingdom. She finished in the Top 15.
Mary Stävin of Sweden won the title. Ineke Berends of Holland was the first runner-up.
From Miss Europe 1977 to Miss Universe 2024
On March 15, 1978, Eva represented Austria at Miss Europe 1977 and competed against 14 other candidates in Helsiki, Finland. She won the title.
Runner-up to Eva was Dagmar Gabriele Winkler of Germany. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Sarah Louise Long of England, Guðbjörg Vilhjálmsdóttir of Iceland and Maarit Ryhänen of Finland.
On March 2, 1980, Eva crowned her successor Miss Europe 1980 Karin Zorn at the Puerto de la Cruz Park in Santa Cruz, Canary Islands, Spain. Eva went on to become a fashion designer regularly attending the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.
On November 16, 2024, Eva will join the selection committee at Miss Universe 2024 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. Among her fellow judges are Emilio Estefan, Lele Pons and Romero Britto.
