Hrafnhildur Haraldsdottir, 20, of Reykjavik, Iceland is the first beauty queen to represent Iceland in both Miss Universe and Miss Earth. These are two of the six grand slam beauty pageants for women along with Miss World, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International.
Born and raised in Reykjavik, Haraldsdottir went to A.T. Mahan High School in Keflavik, Iceland. In 2020, she entered the Commercial College of Iceland in Reykjavik to pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Miss Universe 2022
On August 24, 2022, Haraldsdottir represented East Reykjavik at Ungfrú Ísland 2022 and competed against 15 other candidates at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavik. She won the title, making her Iceland’s Miss Universe 2022 candidate.
On January 14, 2023, Haraldsdottir represented Iceland at Miss Universe 2022 and competed against 83 other candidates at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. She was unplaced.
On August 16, 2023, Haraldsdottir crowned her successor Ungfrú Ísland 2023 Lilja Sif Pétursdóttir at Gamla Bíó. The latter was unplaced when she represented Iceland at Miss Universe 2023 at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Miss Earth 2024
On July 3, 2024, Haraldsdottir was officially appointed Miss Earth Iceland 2024. On July 4, 2024, she attended the Mister Supranational 2024 coronation ceremony at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland wearing her Miss Earth Iceland 2024 sash.
On November 9, 2024, Haraldsdottir will represent Iceland at Miss Earth 2024 at the Okada Manila in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. She will compete against 75 other candidates including Selina Josefsen of Norway, Brooke Nicola Smith, 26, of England and Grace Gavigan, 18, of Wales.
This is the third time Iceland is represented in Miss Earth. Katrín Dögg Sigurdardóttir and Dagbjört Rúriksdóttir were unplaced when they represented the European country in the competition in 2007 and 2020, respectively
