Lorraine Yago Ojimba, 25, of South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines is one of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 candidates. The date and venue of the coronation ceremony have yet to be announced.
Ojimba’s father is Nigerian. Her mother Josephine Yago Ojimba is Filipino.
On July 6, 2017, Josephine died of breast cancer. She was 52.
Lorraine is a model and a singer. She finished in the Top 17 of “Bida Next”, a reality competition aired on GMA 7 from July 18, 2022 to February 4, 2023 as a segment of the show “Eat Bulaga!“
On February 5, 2024, Lorraine represented South Triangle at Miss Universe Quezon City 2024 and competed against 14 other candidates at Seda Vertis North in Diliman. She won the title.
It was the inaugural edition of the beauty pageant that selects Quezon City’s Miss Universe Philippines candidate. If she wins Miss Universe Philippines 2024, she will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico and become the country’s first Miss Universe candidate of Nigerian descent.
If Lorraine wins Miss Universe 2024, she will be the fifth Miss Universe from the Philippines. The country won the crown via Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margie Moran in 1973, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015 and Catriona Gray in 2018.
