Sheynnis Alondra Palacios Cornejo was born at Hospital Alemán Nicaragüense in Managua, Nicaragua to Édgar Arístides Palacios García and Raquel Guadalupe Cornejo Pichardo. On May 30, 2023, Sheynnis turned 23.
Aside from Managua, Sheynnis has lived in other parts of Nicaragua including Diriamba. Managua and Diriamba are around 45 kilometers apart.
Miss World 2022
On February 15, 2020, Sheynnis competed against 13 other Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2020 candidates at Hotel Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Managua. She won the title and the Beauty with a Purpose and Social Media challenges.
Sherly Casco and Fernanda Salazar were the respective first and second princesses. Dayana Cuadra, Masielis Bravo and Odalys Rodríguez finished in the Top 6.
In December 2021, Sheynnis represented Nicaragua at Miss World 2021, competed against 96 other candidates in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was selected as one of the 40 quarterfinalists.
On March 16, 2022, Sheynnis competed against 39 other quarterfinalists during the Miss World 2021 coronation night at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan. She did not make it to the Top 13.
Miss Universe 2023
On August 5, 2023, Sheynnis represented Diriamba at Miss Nicaragua 2023 and competed against nine other finalists at Crowne Plaza Managua in Managua. It was the 42nd edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Nicaragua’s Miss Universe candidate.
Sheynnis won the title. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Daysi Velásquez of Santa Lucia, Isabella Salgado of Chinandega, Chantal Urbina of Granada and Waymara Antonio of Puerto Cabezas.
On November 18, 2023, Sheynnis represented Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2023 and competed against 83 other candidates at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. She won the title, making her the first ever Miss Universe from Nicaragua.
Runner-up to Sheynnis was Anntonia Porsild of Thailand. Moraya Wilson of Australia was second runner-up.
