Diamond Langi, 31, was born in Auckland, New Zealand to Tongan parents. She lived in Vaini, Tongatapu, Tonga, grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States and later moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia then back to Auckland.
Langi is 5’101⁄2” tall. She earned her master’s degree in advanced styling at Australian Style Institute in Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Playing the title role, Langi starred in “Sosefina”, which was released in the U.S. on June 1, 2022. She played Mana Po’Uli in “Brutal Lives – Mo’ui Faingata’a” in 2023.
Aside from being professional actor, Langi is also a musician, a stylist, a model and a beauty queen. Here is a glimpse of her journey from Miss Earth 2017 to Miss Universe 2019:
Miss Earth 2017
On July 27, 2012, Langi made her beauty pageant debut by representing Bou’s Fashion at Miss Heilala 2012. She competed against six other candidates at Pangai Lahi in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga and finished as third runner-up to Ebony Nuku of Liahona Alumni.
On November 12, 2013, Langi represented Tonga at Face of Beauty International 2013, competed against 36 other candidates at Mimosa Pattaya in Na Chom Thian, Sattahip, Chonburi, Thailand and won the title. The fourth runner-up was Namibia’s Yana Haenisch, who became first runner-up to Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild on December 6, 2019.
On November 4, 2017, Langi represented Tonga at Miss Earth 2017 and competed against 84 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She finished in the Top 16.
Miss Universe 2019
Representing Thailand, Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand finished in the Top 8 at Miss Earth 2017. On June 29, 2019, she won Miss Universe Thailand 2019.
On August 17, 2019, Langi competed at Miss Universe New Zealand 2019 and competed against 13 other candidates at the Dorothy Winstone Centre of Auckland Girls’ Grammar School in Auckland. She won the title.
On December 8, 2019, Langi represented New Zealand and Drouin represented Thailand at Miss Universe 2019. They competed against 88 other candidates at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Drouin finished in the Top 5. Langi was unplaced.
