Crystle Stewart, 41, was born in Houston, Texas, United States. She is Miss Texas USA 2008 and Miss USA 2008.

Stewart finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2008. From 2021 to 2022, she was the national director of Miss Teen USA and Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.

Under Stewart’s directorship, Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2021. After R’Bonney Gabriel‘s coronation as Miss Universe 2022, she passed the Miss USA 2022 crown to Miss USA 2022 first runner-up Morgan Romano.

In October 2022, Stewart and her company Miss Brand were suspended from their roles in organizing Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. It was a result of allegations of rigging leveled by Miss USA 2022 contestants.

On August 1, 2023, it was officially confirmed that Stewart, Miss Brand and the Miss Universe Organization have chosen to end their partnership. A spokesperson of the organization stated, “The Miss Universe Organization is grateful for the longstanding relationship with Crystle Stewart over the years.

“As a stakeholder in the Miss USA brand, Crystle and her team enhanced prize packages, increased visibility of titleholders, secured a remarkable location for the Miss USA pageant, and strengthened brand partnerships,” the spokesperson continued. “Crystle has been a trusted friend of the organization, an exemplary titleholder, and has consistently demonstrated her unwavering dedication and commitment to both the Miss Universe Organization and the Miss USA pageant.”

Moreover, the Miss Universe Organization clarified that after a thorough and extensive investigation, it was found that accusations of rigging of Miss USA 2022 were false. The organization’s spokesperson shared, “Sincere gratitude to Crystle and the entire Miss Brand staff and employees for their unwavering cooperation and transparency throughout the entire investigation. Their willingness to provide full assistance and support during that challenging time is a testament to their professionalism and integrity.”

Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart said Stewart has been a close part of the Miss Universe family from her own pageant days through the many challenges of Miss USA 2022. The former added, “We can’t wait to see what’s next for her and for Miss Brand.”

The new Miss USA and Miss Teen USA national director will be revealed soon. On September 25, 2023, Miss USA 2023 will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, USA.
