Miss Africa USA 2023 Snit Tewoldemedhin crowned in Greenbelt, Maryland

Snit Tewoldemedhin, 24, of Asmara, Eritrea is Miss Africa USA 2023. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at George Mason University in Washington, D.C., United States.

Tewoldemedhin speaks Tigrigna, English and Italian. She has a younger sister with Down Syndrome.

In 2019, Tewoldemedhin moved from Eritrea to the U.S. In July 2021, she graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia, USA with an associate’s degree in biology.

On March 18, 2023, Tewoldemedhin represented Eritrea at Miss Africa USA 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Greenbelt, Maryland, USA. The judges were Kyle Holleman, Koby Maxwell, Mark Haluka, Queen Adetutu Ola and Sifa Love.

Including Tewoldemedhin, a total of 14 African women competed for the title. Here are the results:

This is the 15th edition of Miss Africa USA. On November 23, 2019, Sherylene Grice of Liberia won the 14th edition at Sheraton Hotel in Bellsville, Maryland.

Miss Africa USA was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in 2005. It is considered the mother of African pageants in the diaspora.
