Born in Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia, Valeria María Ayos Bossa turned 27 on March 20, 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, Colombia.
Ayos is 5’9″ tall. She represented Colombia in Miss Earth and Miss Universe.
Miss Earth 2018
On August 23, 2018, Ayos won Miss Earth Colombia 2018 at the General Saulo Gil Ramirez Sendoya Auditorium in Bogota. Also crowned were Miss Earth Colombia-Air 2018 Katherine Huila, Miss Earth Colombia-Water 2018 Hillary Hollman and Miss Earth Colombia-Fire 2018 Natalia Romero.
On November 3, 2018, Ayos represented Colombia at Miss Earth 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She competed against 86 other candidates including Celeste Cortesi of the Philippines.
Nguyen Phuong Khanh of Vietnam won the title. Melanie Mader of Austria ranked second and was crowned Miss Earth-Air 2018 while Ayos ranked third and was crowned Miss Earth-Water 2018.
Melissa Flores of Mexico ranked fourth and was crowned Miss Earth-Fire 2018. Cortesi finished in the Top 8.
Miss Universe 2021
Ayos was an official Miss Universe Colombia 2020 candidate. After suffering partial face paralysis, she had to withdraw from the competition.
On October 18, 2021, Ayos represented Cartagena at Miss Universe Colombia 2021 and competed against 23 other candidates at the Chamorro City Hall in Bogota. She won the title.
Runner-up to Ayos was Maria Alejandra Lopez of Risaralda. The second runner-up was Franselys Santoya of Bolivar.
On December 13, 2021, Ayos represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2021 at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. She competed against 79 other candidates including Beatrice Gomez of the Philippines.
Both Ayos and Gomez finished in the Top 5. Harnaaz Sandhu of India won the title.
Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay was runner-up to Sandhu. Lalela Mswane of South Africa was the second runner-up.
