Thessaly Charissa Zimmerman represented Aruba in Miss Teen Americas and Miss Universe. On September 12, 2021, she turned 27.
From 2006 to 2013, Zimmerman attended Colegio Arubano in Oranjestad, Aruba. From 2014 to 2020, she attended the University of Applied Science Utrecht in Utrecht, Netherlands where she earned her bachelor’s degree international communication and media studies.
From Miss Teen Aruba International 2012 to Miss Teen Americas 2013
On July 15, 2012, Zimmerman competed against 11 other Miss Teen Aruba International 2012 at the Renaissance Convention Center in Oranjestad. She won the title.
Runner-up to Zimmerman was Jesseline Naomi Berg. The second runner-up was Isabella Janeth Gonzalez.
On July 27, 2013, Zimmerman represented Aruba at Miss Teen Americas 2013 and competed against 16 other candidates in El Salvador. She was runner-up to Fulvia Villarreal of Panama.
Renata Salem of Ecuador was the second runner-up. Marily Martina of Curacao, Elizabeth Rosales of El Salvador, Helen Torres of Honduras and Danna Hernandez of Puerto Rico finished in the Top 7.
From Miss Amsterdam 2016 to Miss Universe 2021
On October 30, 2016, Zimmerman competed against 17 other Miss Amsterdam 2016 candidates at the Stadsschouwburg of Amsterdam in Amsterdam. Ireda Nijboer won the title.
Zimmerman was runner-up to Nijboer. Veerle Dori van Isveldt was the second runner-up.
On July 18, 2021, Zimmerman was officially appointed Miss Universe Aruba 2021. On December 13, 2021, she represented Aruba at Miss Universe 2021 at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel.
Zimmerman competed against 79 other candidates including Chantel O’Brian of the Bahamas, Clemence Botino of France, Michelle Colon of Puerto Rico and Elle Smith of the United States. These five candidates finished in the Top 10.
Harnaaz Sandhu of India won the crown. Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa were the respective first and second runners-up.
