Michelle Colon’s stardom from Miss Teen World Puerto Rico 2018 to Miss Universe 2021

Michelle Marie Colón Ramirez represented Puerto Rico in Miss Teen Americas and Miss Universe. She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to her Puerto Rican father Emilio Colón and her Dominican mother Doris Ramírez.

Aside from Bayamon, Michelle has lived in other parts of Puerto Rico including Loiza. She is 6’0″ tall and on September 1, 2021, she turned 21.

On April 7, 2018, Michelle represented Bayamon at Miss Teen World Puerto Rico 2018 and competed against 27 other candidates at the Teatro Municipal de Cayey in Cayey, Puerto Rico. Xarimar Acevedo of San Juan won the title.

Also crowned were Miss Teen Mundial Puerto Rico 2018 Karla Guilfú of Patillas, Miss Teen Earth Puerto Rico 2018 Zahira Pérez of Yabucoa and Miss Teen World Super Model Puerto Rico 2018 Ivonette S. Rodríguez of Juncos. Michelle ranked fifth and was crowned Miss Teen Americas Puerto Rico 2018.

On May 26, 2018, Michelle represented Puerto Rico at Miss Teen Americas 2018 and competed against 14 other candidates in San Salvador, El Salvador. She won the title.

Kiara Arends of Curacao ranked second and was crowned Virreina de las Americas 2018. Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic ranked third.

On September 30, 2021, Zimmerman represented Loiza at Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 and competed against 25 other candidates at the Luis A. Ferre Performing Arts Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She won the titlte.

Runner-up to Zimmerman was Jaylene Alvarez of San Lorenzo. Oxana Rivera of Dorado was the second runner-up.

On December 13, 2021, Zimmerman represented Aruba at Miss Universe 2021 at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. She competed against 79 other candidates including Shariëngela Cijntje of Curacao, Debbie Aflalo of the Dominican Republic and Alejandra Gavidia of El Salvador.

Cijntje , Afalo and Gavidia were all unplaced. Colon finished in the Top 10.

Harnaaz Sandhu of India won the crown. Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa were the respective first and second runners-up.
