Ann Sidney of the United Kingdom was 20 years old when she was crowned Miss World 1964 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, England, U.K. on November 12, 1964. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Ana Maria Soria, then 23, of Argentina, Linda Lin, then 22, of China, Maria Isabel Avelar, then 18, of Brazil and Lyndal Cruickshank, then 21, of New Zealand.
Miss World 1965
On November 19, 1965, Sidney went back to the Lyceum Ballroom in London to crown her successor. It was the 15th edition of the international beauty pageant created by Eric Morley.
A total of 48 women competed for the Miss World 1965 crown. These were the candidates:

David Jacobs, Michael Aspel and Philip Lewis hosted the Miss World 1865 coronation ceremony. Broadcast on BBC, the show featured performances by Lionel Blair, Phil Tate’s orchestra, Ronnie Carroll and Miss World 1961 Rosemarie Frankland.
Four of the nine Miss World 1965 judges were from the U.K., namely Donald Malcolm Campbell, Henrietta Tiarks, Stanley Baker and Suzanna Leigh while two were from the U.S. namely Broderick Crawford and Johnny Mathis. The others were Martine Carol of France, Fatehsinghrao Prataprao Gaekwad of India and Sir Learie Constantine of Trinidad and Tobago.
It was the candidate from the U.K. who won the crown. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were the candidates from the U.S., Ireland, Austria and Tahiti.
