Meng Bo KOs Laura Balin at ‘ONE: Age of Dragons’ in Beijing, China

Meng Bo of China made her ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Age of Dragons”. She defeated Laura “La Gladiadora” Balin of Argentina.

As a mixed martial artist, Meng has been competing professionally since 2013. Before joining ONE Championship, she competed in China MMA League, Chinese Kung Fu Championships, Wu Lin Feng and Glory of Heroes, among others.

“ONE: Age of Dragons” was held at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China on November 16, 2019. The combat sports event will feature 12 matches not only in MMA but also in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series with kickboxing and Muay Thai contests.

The eighth match was an MMA fight between Meng and Balin in the women’s atomweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee of the atomweight contest.

Coste stopped the fight after 2 minutes and 45 seconds in the first round. Meng knocked out her Argentine opponent via punches.

The victory improved Meng’s professional MMA record to 12 wins and 5 losses. On the other hand, Balin now has 16 wins and 4 losses.

In the main event of “ONE: Age of Dragons”, reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Ilias Ennahachi of the Netherlands successfully defended his title from “Metal Storm” Wang Wenfeng of China. In the co-main event, Roman Kryklia of Ukraine won the inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Championship by beating Tarik “The Tank” Khbabez of Morocco via technical knockout.

Before the event, ONE Championship announced a partnership with Bloomage International. As the strategic partner, the latter will work closely with the Singapore-based martial arts organization in developing its brand across all platforms.

“ONE Championship remains dedicated to delivering Chinese martial arts fans the very best in sports entertainment,” ONE Championship group president Hua Fung Teh stated. “Showcasing our elite Chinese ONE Championship athletes and giving them the global platform to shine is our goal. I can’t wait for this amazing event this November.”
