Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray was born in Cairns, Queensland, Australia to Ian Gray and Normita Ragas Magnayon Gray. Ian is an Australian citizen of Scottish descent while Normita is a Filipino from Oas, Albay, Philippines.
Catriona represented the Philippines in Miss World and Miss Universe. On January 6, 2018, she turned 24.
Miss World 2016
On October 2, 2016, Catriona competed against 23 other Miss World Philippines 2016 candidates at the Manila Hotel in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. She won the title.
The respective first, second, third and fourth princesses were Arienne Louise Calingo, Ivanna Kamil Pacis, Marah Muñoz and Sandra Lemonon. The Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic awards were both given to Lemonon.
On December 18, 2016, Catriona represented the Philippines at Miss World 2016. She competed against 116 other candidates at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States.
Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico won the title while Yaritza Reyes of the Dominican Republic and Natasha Mannuela Halim of Indonesia were the respective first and second princesses. Catriona and Evelyn Njambi of Kenya finished in the Top 5.
Miss Universe 2018
On March 18, 2018, Catriona represented Albay at Binibining Pilipinas 2018. She competed against 39 other candidates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
Catriona ranked first and was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2018. Also crowned were Miss International Philippines 2018 Ahtisa Manalo, Miss Supranational Philippines 2018 Jehza Mae Huelar, Miss Grand Philippines 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug, Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2018 Karen Juanita Gallman and The Miss Globe Philippines 2018 Michele Therese Gumabao.
On December 17, 2018, Catriona represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 2018 at the Impact Arena in Ban Mai, Nonthaburi, Thailand. It was the 67th edition of the international beauty pageant owned by WME/IMG.
A total of 94 women competed for the title, which was won by Catriona. Tamaryn Green of South Africa and Sthefany Gutierrez of Venezuela were the respective first and second runners-up while Kiara Ortega of Puerto Rico and H’Hen Nie of Vietnam finished in the Top 5.
