Training out of Bali MMA, Stefer Rahardian, 31, of Jakarta, Indonesia is in the mood to get back on the winning track in his homeland at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” on September 22, 2018. This is his chance to redeem himself after recently losing his undefeated professional mixed martial arts record.
“Coming into this bout, I have a renewed confidence,” Rahardian stated. “I am training really hard. With the help of my teammates at Bali MMA, I am motivated to show the world that I am worthy to compete on an international stage like ONE Championship.”
On July 27, 2018, Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, 39, of the Philippines defeated Rahardian at “ONE: Reign of Kings” in the Philippines. It was the first time the Indonesian grappling wizard lost a professional MMA bout.
In the co-main event of “ONE: Conquest of Heroes,” Rahardian will face Peng Xue Wen of China. The latter is a Chinese National Greco-Roman Wrestling Silver Medalist, who notched an impressive 57-second stoppage victory at the expense of Eddey “The Clown” Kalai of Malaysia on July 7, 2018 at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.”
“I have dreams of becoming a world champion in this wonderful sport someday, and I am coming and willing to work for it,” Rahardian said. Despite the jagged path to the upper echelon of ONE Championship’s talented 56.7-kilogram weight class, he is inspired to embrace the grind as he witnessed many celebrated world champions in history who had to endure a tumultuous period of uncertainty before they could reach the pinnacle of success.
Rahardian is determined to make sure he would not go through a similar experience like his last cage outing in ONE Championship. The Bali MMA fighter shared, “Now, the focus has been on sharpening my talent and making sure I learn from my mistakes in my last bout.”
“ONE: Conquest of Heroes” will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. Meanwhile, here is a clip featuring Rahardian:
