Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Iran Diaz face off in Bangkok, Thailand

ONE Championship recently held the official “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” open workout at Nakornloung Promotion Gym in Bangkok, Thailand. It featured several Thai athletes and a Mexican boxer.

Marking ONE Championship’s first ever boxing match, “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” is set for the Impact Arena in Bangkok on October 6, 2018. In the main event, The Ring and World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Flyweight World Champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai of Thailand will defend his title against Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz of Sonora, Mexico.

Sor Rungvisai is one of the most celebrated pugilists in Thailand’s history, winning the prestigious WBC Super Flyweight World Title on two occasions. Holding a professional record of 46 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw with 41 knockouts, he is ranked number 5 on the pound-for-pound best boxers list of Boxrec.com and number on The Ring Magazine’s rankings.

After regaining the WBC Super Flyweight World Title in March 2017, Sor Rungvisai successfully defending it two times. The Thai boxing champ will defend it again in ONE Championship’s historical event in Bangkok.

On the other hand, Diaz is one of the fastest rising talents in Mexican boxing. Born and raised in a country known for its passionate love for pugilism, he holds a professional  record of 14 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws with 6 knockouts to his name.

Diaz’s most notable victories have come over dangerous former World Champions Hernan “Tyson” Marquez and Luis Concepcion. A winner of three of his last five contests, Diaz is riding a wave of momentum heading into his next bout.

Also in attendance at the “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” open Workout were Thai ONE Championship athletes Rika “Tinydoll” Ishige, Sagetdao “Deadly Star” Petpayathai and Petchmorrakot Wor. Sangprapai. ONE Championship vice president for public relations and communications Loren Mack and Nakornloung Promotion promoter Thainchai Pisitwuttinan also graced the event.
